To commemorate Chinese culture and history, the Dragon Boat Festival and Chinese New Year celebrations will be the prime events to be celebrated each year in the North West. This event will start at 11:00 am at Dock 9, Huron Basin.
Last year's 2012 UK Chinese Dragon Boat Festival Celebration was a great success and attracted 15 Dragon Boat teams and a modest crowd of lively supporters and spectators.
This year’s event is destined to attract twice as many Dragon Boat teams from local communities, universities, corporates, and charity fund-raisers all competing for this year’s winning trophy.
Like last year, there will be a showcase of high-quality traditional Chinese cultural attractions, such as traditional lion dances, folk dances, music, songs and Chinese calligraphy and a bite of traditional Dragon Boat Festival food!
